REJOICE

My grandmother, Joyce Lawson, who helped raise my older brother and I passed away on April 25th at 8:17pm.  She was born in 1927.. back in the day.  The things she experienced in her life and over came were intense to say the least.

The majority of memories.. I'm going to keep to myself but I will share this with you.  She gave her life to Jesus in 1980.  She simply asked Him to come into her life and take away her fear.  She told me that the fear of the unknown, death, & purpose were absent from her life for 53 years.  But she immediately found the answers and a true purpose to her life with a relationship with GOD and simply reading His word.  And man, she had a REAL relationship with the Lord.  She would constantly pray for my family in the later years of her life and I got to talk about many deep things with her.  Things that most people wish they had someone to share those things with.

My family and I were blessed to be by her side as she passed away.  I can honestly tell you that I am more of a complete man with the influence and guidance she had over my life.  She told us all to REJOICE.  Rejoice over life, trials, love, loss, forgiveness, acceptance, and stay focused on Christ even when you feel lost at times.  Always REJOICE!!  So today.. June 7th, 2009.. I am choosing to REJOICE.  Put a real smile on your face and choose a positive attitude.  Be a joy to people in such a difficult time, such a difficult year.  Choose to REJOICE!  Love you Grandma.  Always will.

New Collections, New Prices.. let me explain:

Beginning May 1st, 2009:

All RXYM Fashion USA products are going to be reduced in price significantly.

The main reason for this decision is NOT due to the "Recession" because most economic experts say the recession will be minimal by late 2010.  Honestly, I started to forget why I started this company in the first place... and that reason being: To clothe my family and friends and younger riders in quality/comfortable fashion at a price they can afford.

It's not a sob story and it's not a lie.  I grew up in a trailer mobile home on an Indian Reservation.  We were not totally poor (by the way, if you really think you are poor.. freakin' go to Haiti or just leave America and you'll shut your mouth).. but regardless my brother and I couldn't afford to wear all the name brand stuff all the other kids could afford.  It was cool though because it didn't diminish our love for the sports we were into and when I was fortunate enough to get sponsored and get some free stuff, I thought to myself, "How many other kids are out there that love the sport they are into but can't afford the name brand stuff?  I'm going to create something for these kids/adults."

So "RXYM: The REMEDY YOUTH MOVEMENT" was established.

Some Questions I've been getting:

1) Is the quality of clothing going to be effected because of the reduction in price?
Never, we will always use the highest quality materials we can afford.  We were testing out some different cotton combinations over the last year and found the one we like.

2) Are the prices going to be lowered in retail stores and in your webstore?
Yes and yes.  We are going to be available in more retail surf shops and webstore's beginning in June 2009 and the prices will be the same across the board, regardless where you shop.

3) Aren't you afraid of customers/people thinking that your clothes are not as good as the other companies because they are sold at a lesser price?
You know what?  This is the question I've been getting the most.  Some companies jack up their prices 200-500% percent easily!  I never understood why people pay $50+ for a tee or $100+ for a pair of jeans.  Yeah, some people are going to think that our clothes are cheap now and that they suck (can't please everyone)... SO WHAT!!!  If you think like that, you are being brainwashed.  High price doesn't always mean high quality all the time. You cannot make everyone happy and you cannot make everyone want to buy your clothes.  With this decision, I'm making myself happy and staying true to the original cause.

4) Could this reduction in price make RXYM go under?
Yeah.. but a lot of things could.  Sales are good right now.. I'm being honest. Maybe they will increase.. maybe they will decrease, I don't know.  All I know is that the price is coming down.  I stand by this product.  Our riders stand by the product.  We are growing really fast so before we grow anymore I'm personally bringing the price down and not losing sight of my personal/original vision.  This is and always will be for the core riders and core youth out there just living and loving the sport they are into.

That's that.  Stay true to your vision and work hard.

The new "REALITY" COLLECTION by RXYM FASHION USA, set to debut in June 2009

"Yes a jumpy rhythm makes you feel so fine,
It'll shake all your trouble from your worried mind,
Get rhythm.. when you get the blues." -Johnny Cash

It's a progression, you know.  You have to start somewhere.

With me, it looks something like this:
  • Dream
  • Planning
  • Prayer
  • More Dreaming
  • Work
  • Reality

My personal reality is made up of my dreams.

So this "REALITY" Collection is an expression of what is going on in my life today.  I've been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash.  Particularly that song, "Get Rhythm."  Times are tough.  We are all feeling it.  More negative news headlines do nothing more to me except get me working harder.  Get me focused on what's important.  These clothes are special to me because they are simple, comfortable, and clean.  Gotta keep it clean.  The "REALITY" Collection is not going to turn heads with major color schemes or flash, but it will make you feel confident in where RXYM Fashion USA is going as a newly established company in this down economy.  S0 get going.  Get Rhythm.  Get working.  Get refocused.  There are a millions reasons to be down.  So what gets you up?  What gives you rhythm?  Do that.  This is my rhythm.  This is my reality.
